Occupational Health for Schools

A rapidly expanding Academy school was looking to change their occupational health provider. Teh Academy was keen that the quality of service  should meet the needs of an expanding organisation. They felt that their existing provider was taking too long with their Occupational Health reports, that their queries went unanswered, and that a lot of time and money was taken up with new employment medicals. The business was looking for a new model of occupational health that would be more responsive to the needs of the business.

Nurse Led Occupational Health for Schools

WorkFuture Ltd was approached to see if we could offer an alternative service that would deliver tangible improvements to the business. It was decided that a Nurse-led Occupational Health Service based on Case Management would be most effective due to the number of employees spread over the region. The organisation received full office hours support during the week so that all queries were dealt with within 2 hours, a dedicated nurse would provide a weekly case management clinic to deal with new employments and management referrals, and additional services would be provided on an adhoc basis.

Occupational Health Service Review

An Occupational Health service review showed  that a Nurse led Occupational Health Service had reduced the organisation’s costs, established a timely and responsive occupational health service while at the same time providing a greater range of services for their employees from specialist health professionalist over a wider geographical area.
