DSE/Computer USer TrainingNottingham November 12th 2008 We are all spending more and more time on computers but very few of us know how to set up our workstations to prevent the long term ill affects on our health and wellbeing. This course is designed to help everyone who uses a computer to reduce discomfort, aching, and fatigue in our hands, arms, neck, shoulders and eyes. The benefits to any business is more than just meeting legislation. By caring for your staff you are ensuring a healthy business, one that knows the value of a productive workforce with minimal absence and ill health. Working Well with Computers Seminar Part 1Initial Seminar of 2 hours covering comfortable working postures, workplace layout, position of screen, keyboard and mouse, organising workload and documents and good practices to minimise discomfort Part 2.Delegates go back to their workstations, with an Ergonomic Checklist, and make changes to their set-up from information learnt at the Seminar. Part 3.DSE Assessor visits each workstation, checks the Ergonomic Check List, advises the computer users on any changes they have made, and.suggests possible improvement Part 4.DSE assessor writes a report of the training provided, the checklist results, any adjustments made and further recommendations. Course Information This course can be provided in-house. It requires 2 hours of seminar training and 30 minutes per individual for the ergonomic evaluation of their workstation.
