WorkFuture - Anubis Winner 2007

Eight small businesses in Notts are celebrating after winning £10,000 to spend on technology. They were picked from 100 companies in the East Midlands in the ANUBIS business technology competition. It aimed to show how companies with up to 250 employees could benefit from new technology.

One of the Nottingham-based winners is WorkFuture Ltd, based in New Basford. It offers an occupational health service to employers who need to manage long-term absence issues through sickness or injury

The company wanted funding for a computer which evaluates the physical capabilities of employees who are absent from work. It can tell whether an employee is fit to return to work, which job they can do and whether changes need to be made for them

The service can speed up the return to work, save money by cutting the number of days lost due to absence and send a positive message to the workforce about sickness management.
